Community impact
Care before crisis, measured honestly.
Black men in Texas face real barriers to emotional support: cost, distance, distrust, and spaces that were never built with them in mind. Bro Chill works upstream of crisis by building trust, language, and connection first.
The Care Before Crisis™ approach
Trust
Meet men where they already gather and earn the right to the conversation.
Prevent
Build emotional language and daily practices before things reach a breaking point.
Screen
Notice what is happening early, without diagnosing or labeling anyone.
Connect
Warm handoffs to people, programs, and professional care when a man wants them.
Reach and participation
Participant voice
What we measure
- Confidence naming emotions
- Clarity about personal needs
- Willingness to talk with a trusted person
- Sense of belonging
- Knowledge of where to seek support
- Repeat participation
- Facilitator confidence
Measures are collected through voluntary pre and post session reflections. Results are reported in aggregate, de-identified, and suppressed when a group is too small to protect privacy.
Partner or fund the work
Every circle, hike, and toolkit is funded through partners, sponsors, and donors who believe men deserve support before crisis.
The downloadable impact report is issued once the current reporting period is verified. Reach out and we will send the most recent version we can stand behind.
